The provincial capital of Bolzano is also within easy reach and attracts visitors with the Ötzi Museum and the South Tyrol Museum of Nature.

It is – and what we know for sure is that your kids will love the adventure playground in Algund! Do you need an insider excursion tip? No problem, just come to the reception and we‘ll be happy to help you. Many of our regular guests are families with children. But we also know that everyone needs a bit of rest and relaxation. That‘s why we ask our families to help us create a relaxed atmosphere for everyone, whether in the swimming pool or garden. Jumping off the edge of the pool is not allowed.

You can hike in South Tyrol all year round, although each season has its own special features. While nature will awaken in spring and let nature bloom, autumn will bathe the land in new colors and stun you with its colorful foliage lining the hiking trails. In summer, you can explore high-altitude routes to the most beautiful Alpine pastures, while in winter, a panoramic hike in the snow will enchant you. All seasons are great for hiking!
Many huts open at the beginning of April. The alpine pastures open at the beginning or in the middle of May. Most alpine huts are still open until the middle or end of October offering some great views that you shouldn‘t miss.
South Tyrol‘s hiking areas are known for their vastness. Sometimes you can hike for hours without meeting a soul. The closer you get to the centers, the more fellow hikers you will meet.
The Algund chairlift is about a 10-minute walk away and takes you to the Texelgruppe hiking area. Numerous hikes can be started from there. In Rabland there is a cable car that takes you directly to the Vigiljoch family hiking area. With the Südtirol GuestPass Algund you can use this cable car free of charge.

Some hikes can be started directly from the hotel. Otherwise, the regional bus can be used free of charge with the Südtirol GuestPass Algund.
It depends a little on the snow conditions. Circular hiking trails in the valley are usually always an option. Otherwise, you can head out into the snow-covered winter landscape on snowshoes.
It‘s actually quite simple: all you need to do is to take the road to the village center of Algund. From there, just follow the signs to the cycle path. It will take you to the Vinschgau Valley, to Bolzano or the Passeier Valley. Have fun!
We don‘t have children‘s bikes at Thalguter, but don‘t worry, we won‘t let you down. On request, we can organize bikes for the little pedaleros. You can pick them up from a rental shop in the village of Algund.
It depends on the cable car. It is usually possible outside peak times in the mornings and evenings, but we would advise you to check this briefly on the website beforehand or to ask us at the reception.
At the Thalguter we have a fine selection of e-bikes that are just waiting to be tested by you. Whether you want to conquer the mountains with our e-mountain bikes or prefer to explore the area at a leisurely pace with our e-touring bikes, we have the right bike for every taste. And don‘t worry, our bikes are brand new and equipped with at least 625wh or 750wh batteries. The e-mountain bikes cost €38 and the e-touring bikes cost €33.
